Plain of Sybaris
Narrow between the Ionian Sea and Pollino, the Plain of Sibari is the largest plain in Calabria, as well as one of its most prosperous and sought after areas. Its history has its roots in the Greek period: its name comes from the ancient and famous city Sybaris, an important commercial centre for the time.
Its millenary history has left magnificent archaeological traces in an area that offers a wonderful sea and unspoilt nature, where the flavors and natural beauty find deep ties.
Following the land reclamation perpetuated in the sixties, the flourishing agricultural activity of the area began, its flagship, which sees it among the most important areas for fruit and vegetable and olive production.
